If the paragraph is aligned to the left, for example, you can’t center the table. The table is aligned according to the alignment of the paragraph where you added it. Place the table within the text: Click in the text where you want the table to appear. In page layout documents, new tables are always added to the page so you can move them freely. In word-processing documents, you can add a new table within the body text so that it moves with the text as you type, or place it as a floating object on the page so you can position it freely and it doesn’t move as you edit the text.
